MULTIPLAST has been working in association with the AIRBUS company in producing prototypes for reactor air intakes.
These composite components, made as one-offs on economic toolings, have to satisfy a severe set of specifications:
For parts of this type, MULTIPLAST uses low temperature carbon/epoxy prepreg which is perfectly adapted to the manufacture of prototype parts in economic toolings. Temperature resistance is obtained by post-curing to a chosen value.
MULTIPLAST has made the following components for AIRBUS :
These composite components, made as one-offs on economic toolings, have to satisfy a severe set of specifications:
- Very fine dimension thresholds,
- Respect weights,
- Temperature resistance of flying parts,
- Low porosity for flying parts.
- 2 leading edge farings (Flare) for the Airbus A380 engines, for wind tunnel testing,
- 3 aerodynamic farings for the GTF engine, for flight testing,
- 1 external air intake for the GTF engine, for flight testing,
- 1 leading edge faring (Flare) for the new Airbus A350 engine, for flight testing.
