Grand Prix de La Trinté - 5 masts out of 8 built by MULTIPLAST
The Grand Prix de La Trinité-sur-Mer, in South Brittany, France, counting towards the ORMA 60 ft Multihull Championship took place between 27th and 30th August last.
MULTIPLAST carbon fibre wing masts equipped 5 out of the 8 entries: Groupama (Franck Cammas), Brocéliande (Alain Gautier), Biscuits La Trinitaine (Marc Guillemot), Banque Populaire (Francis Joyon) and Laiterie de St. Malo (F6R Carluer).
The latest boat to leave the MULTIPLAST yard, the 60 ft trimaran Biscuits La Trinitaine, designed by Nigel IRENS and launched just before the Grand Prix showed promising speed potential with a second place in one of the heats. Marc Guillemot has a little more preparation and development to do before the Route du Rhum transatlantic at the end of November, and another chance to fine tune at the Grand Prix de Royan on 17th-20th September.
