Bruno Peyron : "…We are really amazed by the potential of the boat which is quicker what we are thinking about…", declared the skipper of Orange II a few days after the start from Ushant. But when recording that first record on that RTW attempt, he has to look at things in perspectives : "…we are the first amazed. However, the essential is to last…".
An affirmation shared by Gilles Ollier, creator with the Gilles Ollier Design Team and builder of the boat in Multiplast shed in Vannes : "…we are confident of the high speed potential of that boat. But, as usual, we have hard worked on the reliability  in order to allow the crew to sail the boat in a good safety…".
If Orange II has a great advance in time as in distance – quite 4 days and 1800 miles – nothing is never done at sea. Ellen MacArthur has showed it to us on her winning RTW record attempt in single-handed, loosing  a gain of quite 5 days between Cape Horn to Equator.
