At the recent Paris Show last December, the American skipper Cam Lewis signed a contract to build a 33m maxi catamaran for The Race, in the name of his syndicate Team Adventure.

The construction of Team Adventure started in the JMV yard, Cherbourg (Normandy, France) under the supervision of the Multiplast yard in Vannes (Brittany, France), on Monday January 10th, 2000.

The Norman technicians have started laying the first plies of carbon fibre in the half-hull moulds. These moulds have already been used to produce two identical machines, designed by the Gilles Ollier Design Team
