To meet its customers’ technical requirements, MULTIPLAST relies on an in-house design office comprising around twenty people: Project Engineers, Naval Architects, Designers and Methods Technicians, all specialising in the design and industrialisation of high-performance composite structures.
Two types of projects are handled according to customer requirements: “Built to print” projects and “Built to spec” projects. ” and “Built to spec” projects.
Built-to-print projects
In this case, we ensure the production of the product based on the plans, specifications and documents provided by the Customer.
Our mission is to prepare technically and manufacture according to clearly defined specifications, without interfering in the design of the product.
Built to spec projects
Here, the customer expresses a functional requirement or performance objectives, without imposing the technical solution. Our Design Office then takes charge of the complete design, from architecture to documentation, including production and industrial coordination. We design tailor-made solutions that precisely meet the defined requirements.
Preliminary draft
(RFQ – Request for Quotation)
After signing a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), our teams work on:
- The initial technical discussions,
- The feasibility study,
- The choice of manufacturing process,
- Preparation of a technical proposal and a cost estimate,
- The development of a macro forecast schedule.
Project launch
(KOM – Kick Off Meeting)
Upon receipt of the order:
- Sending an acknowledgement of receipt (triggering T0),
- Establishment of a dedicated project team,
- Commencement of studies: CAD, dimensioning, plans, operating procedures, etc.
- Launch of supplies,
- Update of the detailed schedule and confirmation of the overall timetable.
Preliminary Design Review (PDR)
This step allows the initial technical choices to be validated:
- Systems architecture and interfaces,
- Requirements compliance matrix.
Project monitoring
Throughout all stages of manufacturing, the Design Office’s responsibilities are as follows:
- Lead internal and external technical meetings,
- In collaboration with the Purchasing Department, ensure the delivery of materials.
- Provide technical support and define manufacturing processes.
- Monitor the schedule on a weekly basis,
- Verify compliance with requirements,
- Ensure regular reporting to the Client,
- Act as the project liaison for team leaders and technicians.
