In the civil sector, MULTIPLAST collaborated with AVSimulation to produce carbon domes for next-generation flight simulators. These simulators represent a major advance in the field of immersive simulation.
Named ROADS at RENAULT, this simulator effectively complements traditional digital simulation tools and physical testing. It allows for the analysis of driver behaviour in realistic conditions in response to the rise of driver assistance systems and on-board software. The simulation is so accurate that it also significantly reduces development costs, particularly by reducing the need for physical prototypes.
The simulation domes developed and delivered by MULTIPLAST to AVSimulation have also been installed in Munich, at the BMW development site.
Renowned for their physical and psychological realism, these simulators are now among the most advanced in the world.
What is the difference between a flight simulator and these latest driving simulators?
+The main difference lies in the fact that the six powerful cylinders mounted in a tetrahedron configuration slide on 25 x 25 metre rails. This configuration makes it possible to simulate acceleration and deceleration on each axis in order to accurately and faithfully reproduce the dynamic behaviour of vehicles in all conditions.
