With Yann Guichard, skipper of Spindrift 2 hot in pursuit throughout the race, Lo&iuml;ck gave nothing away in securing the win. Morever, with the victory the Trimaran <em>Banque Populaire<\/em> (ex <em>Groupama 3<\/em>) built at the Multiplast yard in 2007, has won this fabulous race for the second time in a row.<br \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" alignleft size-full wp-image-999\" src=\"https:\/\/www.multiplast.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Banque-populaire-t-martinez.gif\" alt=\"Banque-populaire-t-martinez\" style=\"margin-bottom: 10px; margin-right: 10px; float: left;\" title=\"Mise &agrave; l'eau d'&quot;HAPPY&quot; de Lo&iuml;ck Peyron - Route du Rhum\" width=\"284\" height=\"189\" \/><strong>Ironic twist&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Who could have imagined, last spring, watching Lo&iuml;ck working at the Multiplast yard on his small trimaran <em>Happy, <\/em>sister-ship to the first Route du Rhum winner, that but a few months later, he would be the winner of this race &#8230; an a maxi multihulls and set a new record in 7 days, 15 hours and 8 mn !<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It certainly was a twist of fate that brought this result to pass, because, it was only after Armel Le Cl&eacute;ac&#8217;h&#8217;s injury, that the <em>Banque Populaire Team <\/em>asked Lo&iuml;ck Peyron to skipper their trimaran for this, the most prestigious transat. After 24 hours in which to reflect, Lo&iuml;ck changed from racing the Route du Rhum on one of the smallest boats of the fleet to one of the biggest..<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Photo T.Martinez\/BPCE<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>A great deal of passion&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Yann Penfornis, Manager of Multiplast :&#8221; <em>At Multiplast, everyone follwed the race with a great deal of passion, emotion and also sadness. First of all sadness to see Thomas Coville on Sodebo Ultim&#8217; having to abandon his race after a collision, emotion to watch our trimarans being battered by winds and rain at 45 knots.
